In this case, the amortization of the purchase will be well redistributed over time, and it will even be possible to have savings. Returning to maintenance, it is essential to keep in mind some basic steps. Here they are below:
- If the machine works for many hours simultaneously, it is advisable to stop and rest for a few minutes. In this way, too high temperatures will be avoided, which are harmful to any machinery.
- Cover the machine after use. Using a cloth, or a unique sewing machine cover, it is essential to protect the machine from dust or liquids spilled accidentally.
- Carefully clean the support surface with specific products. The maintenance of the worktop, that is, the one where the fabric to be sewn is stored, is essential. It is essential to be careful not to drop liquids inside the drive section gears to avoid rusting the internal components.

Understanding who invented the sewing machine is a relatively complex and delicate process due to many changes and improvements that have taken place over the centuries. Despite this, the first patent concerning the first real sewing machine can be associated with Karl Friedrich Wiesenthal. The inventor, back in 1755, by combining a central eye and a double-pointed needle, conceived the prototype of this revolutionary instrument.
Over the years, precisely in 1790, it was an Englishman, namely the luminary Thomas Saint, who designed a prototype (still visible at the London museum) based on a single type of stitching.
Meanwhile, over the years, a Frenchman with revolutionary ideas, a tailor by profession, decided to build a new machine with smaller shapes and more efficient use. This event, carried out by Barthélemy Thimonnier, marked the birth of the first sewing machine to be used in practice.
Although these periods were imported, it was only in 1832 that Walter Hunt devised the first lockstitch sewing machine. It will represent a further starting point, essential for structuring the first sewing machine market nationally and internationally.
By 1900, the textile sector was now considered one of the fundamental points for the entire world economy. New operators decided to specialize in sewing, and more and more companies began to design and manufacture sewing machines.
